“Tethered” Exhibition by Meclina Gomes at BlkChip Gallery

“We are all tethered—above and below, past and future, grief and hope.”

Our co-founder Meclina Gomes is hosting her new exhibition “Tethered” at the BlkChip gallery in Boston! This inspiring series explores personal healing, growth, and the power of nature. Meclina has poured her heart into this series that invites us be still, look deeper into ourselves and reflect. On October 10th the grand opening of Tethered was held with an amazing turnout and a room full of connection!

“Tethered is an exploration of resilience, connection, and renewal. Inspired by the ways trees root into the earth and reach toward the sky, this series reflects the delicate balance between what grounds us and what calls us forward. Through layered color, abstract forms, and motifs of branches, roots, and flowing water, my work draws on metaphors found in both nature and the human body. The branching of trees mirrors the pathways of nerves. Mycelium networks beneath the soil resemble connective tissues, unseen but essential. Like the seasons, our cells die and regenerate, reminding us of the constant cycle of loss, repair, and growth. As someone who has navigated profound healing from a traumatic brain injury, this work is deeply personal. Yet, it is also universal. We are all tethered—above and below, past and future, grief and hope. This series is a visual meditation on how we endure, how we heal, and how we find beauty in being part of something larger than ourselves.”
